Our Business Philosophy
We try to find interesting and beautiful stones, fossils and lapidary products at a reasonable price, then pass the savings
on to you. We specialize in the unique!
Deane and Sue
Deane started this business more than 20 years ago, when he began making gemstone trees. Gradually he expanded the
business to include mineral specimens, fossils, and lapidary products. When I came into the business (and married Deane), we
added wire-wrapping to our repertoire. I particularly enjoy looking for unusual cabochons and stones to wrap.
Deane, in his working life, is a minister at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Glens Falls.
Sue, in her working life, is an ecologist and on the faculty of Union Institute & University's BA program. Here's

Is this any way to run a business?
This business never makes much of a profit. I'm paying off my student loans with money earned from the business,
but our real reward is a buying trip to the Tucson Gem and Mineral Shows each February. Is it worth the work? Absolutely!
Our Shop
Deane turned our shed into a shop. Now at least the inventory isn't in the living room!
